Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis have a smiley True Lies reunion in a new set of images. Released in 1994, True Lies is directed by James Cameron, serving as his follow-up to 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The action comedy stars Schwarzenegger as Harry, a suave secret agent who begins to suspect that his wife, Helen Curtis), is cheating on him, plunging them both into a terrorist plot involving smuggling nuclear warheads into the U.S.

Now, almost 30 years after the release of True Lies, Curtis has shared new images on her Instagram of a reunion between her and Schwarzenegger at a recent Charity Event. Check out the new images below:

Why True Lies Remains An Action Classic

By 1994, Cameron had established himself as a talented filmmaker with the likes of Aliens, and two Terminator films. The latter two projects also evidently led to a positive working relationship with Schwarzenegger, who played the iconic T-800. Schwarzenegger had also made a name for himself as an action star at this point, starring in the likes of Conan the Barbarian, Commando, and Predator.

In True Lies, however, Cameron gets to explore Schwarzenegger’s more comedic side, using his size and action hero stature in a new type of story. The actor and director had previously flirted with comedy in parts of Terminator 2, but True Lies now makes that a more significant focus. Although there is clearly an emphasis on laughs, the action set pieces don’t lose their impact and remain just as thrilling as ever.

The film boasts several standout action sequences, including a horse and motorcycle chase through a mall and a particularly memorable sequence involving a fighter jet. With CGI not what it is today, most of these sequences were filmed using practical methods, which has helped them stand the test of time. What really makes these sequences excel, however, and True Lies as a whole, is the chemistry between Schwarzenegger and Curtis.
