There have been a lot of silly rumors online about Chris Evans returning to the role of Captain America in the MCU. I’ve never believed that there is any truth to those rumors, and Evans was recently asked about those rumors. In his response, he is acting very reluctant about returning to the role, which is completely understandable. After all, he’s said goodbye to this character and he’s moving on in his career. He wasn’t going to play Cap forever.
This was his response: “That seems to be something people would like to see. I don’t want to disappoint anybody but it’s tough to… It was such a good run and I’m so happy with it. It’s so precious to me. It would have to be perfect. It just would be scary to rattle something that is, again, so, so dear to me. That role means so much to me. So, to revisit it, it would be a tall order.”
He seems so happy and satisfied with how his story arc came to a close. Personally, as much as I love Captain America, I’m ultimately happy with his story arc in the MCU and I don’t see the point of bringing him back and messing around with his happy ending.
