Shaun the Sheep Gets an Alien Visitor in ‘Farmageddon’ Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming family film from Aardman Animations and StudioCanal also features ‘Lazy,’ a new track from the Vaccines and Kylie Minogue.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the farm…

An alien visitor, a government conspiracy and some outer-space ungulate action are in store for Shaun the Sheep in the latest entry in the hit claymation franchise from Aardman Animations and StudioCanal.

In a new trailer that dropped Wednesday for Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Shaun is visited by Lu-La, a wee, adorable alien who lands near Mossy Bottom Farm. Before you can say E.T., a group of threatening types in hazmat suits are in pursuit, and Shaun and his friends flock together to help get Lu-La back home.

The trailer features ‘Lazy,’ an original song performed by the Vaccines and Kylie Minogue for the film.

Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon is directed by Richard Phelan and Will Becher and follows the success of 2015’s Shaun the Sheep Movie from directors Mark Burton and Richard Starzak, which grossed $106 million worldwide. The Shaun the Sheep character originally appeared in Nick Park’s Oscar-winning short A Close Shave from 1995 and was spun off into a successful children’s television series.

StudioCanal, which backed the first Shaun the Sheep movie as well as Park’s prehistoric claymation comedy Early Man, is financing Farmageddon and will distribute the film across the U.K., France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand in autumn, starting with an Oct. 18 bow in Britain.

Lionsgate will release Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon in North America on Dec. 13.
