A Quiet Place 2 Teaser Trailer Arrives in Theaters with Black Christmas

ARRTNEWSPRESS: The first A Quiet Place 2 trailer has been released in theaters. The brief bit of footage is currently playing in front of Black Christmas. Since some footage has already been prepared for the long-awaited sequel, it won’t be long now before we get to see a full-length trailer online. The movie hits theaters early next year, so it’s about time that the studio starts the promotional campaign. The first installment was a surprise hit at the box office, which paved the way for a sequel.

John Krasinski is back behind the camera for A Quiet Place 2 after the studio convinced him to return. A Quiet Place 2 wrapped in September. The sequel features the original cast, including Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, who are all featured in the first trailer. Clocking in at about 20 seconds, the footage shows Blunt’s Evelyn walking the children through a forest, while being as careful as they can to not make any sound. Evelyn’s foot has a bandage on it, leading one to believe that the sequel takes place directly after the events of the first installment.

Near the conclusion of A Quiet Place, Emily Blunt’s Evelyn steps on a nail, which is why she needed the bandage that is seen in the sequel’s trailer. Even though the trailer for A Quiet Place 2 is brief, it proves that it will have just as much, if not more, tension as the original movie. John Krasinski was skeptical about making a sequel to the horror-thriller, but was encouraged by his real-life wife Emily Blunt to pursue the idea, which led him to write a story that he’s very proud of.

A Quiet Place came out of nowhere and quickly made over $340 million globally from an initial budget of $17 million. It was originally projected to make around $20 million. The studio was going to make a sequel with or without the help of John Krasinski. With that being said, they knew it would be wise to get the director/writer’s thoughts on what a possible sequel could look like, which got the ball rolling and ultimately had Krasinski coming back after some convincing. We know monster origins will be further explored. Now, A Quiet Place 2 is preparing to hit theaters on March 20, 2020 after an original release date in summer 2020. Hopefully the trailer finds its way online in the next few days.

In addition to Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, A Quiet Place 2 also stars Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou. Production on the sequel took place in Upstate New York from June 2019 to September 2019, so Krasinski and crew should be pretty far along in the post-production process by now. They’ll probably take a break for the holidays before going in to finish the final cut in time for the release date. Paramount should give us an update on a widespread trailer in the coming weeks.
