This may explain his new suit.

An upcoming prequel comic to the upcoming movie The Flash reveals the fate of Barry Allen’s suit as seen in Justice League.

The Flash is set to speed into theaters next summer, and although the film’s star Ezra Miller has continued to make headlines for their ongoing legal troubles, that hasn’t stopped the film from having some of its promotional material tease some of its story ahead of its release. In particular, an upcoming movie prequel comic, titled “The Fastest Man Alive #1” gives some hints to what Barry Allen has been up to following the events of Justice League.

Some panels from this upcoming prequel comic for The Flash show Barry Allen suited up in his suit that was featured in Justice League. Here, we see its destruction, which may serve as a bit of an explanation as to why he has a new suit in the upcoming standalone film:

A new suit for Barry Allen.

During DC Fandome 2020, The Flash director Andy Muschietti revealed that Barry Allen’s new suit was designed by none other than Bruce Wayne. The sleeker suit is a departure from the armored look we saw in Justice League and may give the Scarlet Speedster a more agile look when tapping into the Speed Force.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.

In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.

The Flash is currently due to open on June 23, 2023. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of Barry Allen and the Justice League in the DCEU, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
